Product Description

The date palm has long been of significance and a symbol of prosperity in the Arab world.

The tree, whose roots penetrate deep into the soil, allowing it to grow in hot and harsh climates, has not only been a source of food but also of economic gain for the Bedouin settlers of the Arab world.

Date palms, of which there are numerous varieties, are grown in many oases, with the dates themselves providing nutritious food for humans and livestock. The trunks of the trees were used to hold up tents and its leaves continue to be used to make mats, baskets and even fans.

From providing sustenance to Bedouin settlers to being depicted in local literature, the date palm tree has long been rooted in Arabic culture and has become a true symbol of the region.
